How to Comment on Stories in the KSL News App

Want to chime on on a local story that’s important to you? This simple guide explains how to leave a comment on the KSL News app. 

How to leave a comment:

On iOS 

1. Open the KSL News app on your smart device. 
2. Find a news story that interests you on the home page, or search for a specific one using the Search icon in the bottom row. (Disregard this step if you've been directed to a news story on the app from your web browser or a push alert.)
3. Tap the Comment icon in the top row. It looks like a rectangular speech box with a number inside of it. This number represents the number of comments so far. 
   • Tap the Comment Board Guidelines if you haven’t read them yet. This will help you ensure you aren’t violating community standards or breaking comment rules (e.g. leaving more than one comment or reply per article). 
   • Hit Done in the left corner when finished reviewing to return to the Comments section.

4. Tap the + sign in the top right corner to add a comment. 
5. Type your comment, review and hit Submit in the top right corner.

On Android

1. Open the KSL News app on your smart device. 
2. Find a news story that interests you on the home page, or search for a specific one using the Search icon in the bottom row. (Disregard this step if you've been directed to a news story on the app from your web browser or a push alert)

4. Tap the Comment Board Guidelines if you haven’t read them yet. This will help you ensure you aren’t violating community standards or breaking comment rules (e.g. leaving more than one comment and reply per article). Return using the back arrow when finished reviewing to return to the Comments section.
5. Tap the Post Your Own Comment button in the top right corner to add a comment. 
6. Type your comment, review and tap Post in the top right corner.

Your comment has been submitted! 

How to reply to a comment: 

On iOS

1. Repeat steps 1-3 above. 
2. Tap on the comment you would like to reply to. 
3. Choose Reply from the dropdown menu. 
4. Type your comment, review and hit Submit in the top right corner.

On Android

1. Tap the arrow below the comment you would like to reply to. 
2. Type your comment, review and hit Post in the top right corner.
