How to Access and Navigate Weather Reports on the KSL.com News app

Easily find local and statewide weather information by following these quick steps.

Whether you’re heading out for your daily commute or planning for the weekend, it’s helpful to know what weather to expect. Follow these steps to get a quick look at current temperatures, the seven-day forecast, air quality and other weather-related features on the KSL.com News app.

Access the Weather

Find current temperatures and a detailed daily forecast.

For Android:

Open the KSL.com News app.
Tap on the weather icon on the bottom of the page.
Tap on the city name for a list of major cities in Utah, then tap your desired location. The current temperature and seven-day forecast are shown.
Directly below the forecast, the daily air quality index is indicated by a colored dot.

Green: good
Yellow: moderate
Orange: unhealthy for sensitive groups
Red: unhealthy

Scroll down for a detailed explanation of the forecast and more information regarding:

Humidity
Dew point
Air pressure
Wind direction and speed
Sunrise/sunset

Moon phase

For iOS:

Open the KSL.com News app.
Tap the weather icon on the bottom of the page.
Tap City, in the upper right corner, then tap your desired location.
Tap Latest Forecast for a detailed forecast.
Scroll down to see the hourly forecast and weather specifics such as:

Air pressure
Humidity
Wind speed
Precipitation
Sunrise/set
Moon phase

Tap Weather Section button, just below the forecast.
Tap category.

iOS

Tap hamburger menu at top of screen to select Weather Menu.
Tap category.

Selections include:

Air quality: color-coded by county and air quality station locations
Current conditions: current temperatures, humidity and wind speed in cities in Utah and the surrounding area
Microcast: enter the city, state or ZIP code of the area
Photo contest: submit a landscape photo for a chance to win a KSL Prize Pack and/or view past winners
River flow tracker: water levels of creeks, rivers and reservoirs
Ski report: everything happening at Utah’s ski resorts, includes snow base levels, open runs and events, as well as a three-day weather forecast
Snowpack: up-to-date snowpack totals across the state; tap the area button for additional details
VORTEX radar: visually track storms across the state in real time
Weather cameras: select the region (northern or southern Utah), then see current images from weather cameras placed throughout the area
Weather alerts (iOS only): see any active weather alerts for your selected region
