Understanding the Sections Menu on the KSL.com News App

A quick overview of the information available at your fingertips.

Similar to a printed newspaper, the KSL.com News app is organized into sections. Knowing what is available and where to find it will help you navigate the news with ease.

My KSL

The iWitness section enables you to submit photos or videos of newsworthy events unfolding before you. Detailed instructions are available if you’d like more information on how to use the iWitness feature to submit media for consideration by the KSL.com news team.

When you see an article that interests you in the news feed but don’t have time to immediately read it, tap the bookmark icon to save it. Your Saved Stories can be accessed later from this menu, using these instructions.

Traffic (iOS only)

Use Travel Times to quickly calculate your morning, afternoon or evening commute. If the time is listed in green, you’re good to go. If it is listed in red, however, there is a delay and you may want to adjust your route or leave at a different time.

You can also get a bird’s eye view of current conditions by tapping Traffic Cameras and selecting from the list of major roadways/intersections in northern Utah.

Sections

This menu categorizes stories by location and/or interest. A down arrow next to the section name indicates it has subcategories, and acts as an open/close toggle. Make your selection to view a filtered news feed based on what matters most to you — from high school sports scores to Utah politics and world news.

Other

The KSL.com news app wouldn’t be complete without a link to KSL’s online Marketplace via the Classifieds app. Use this section to quickly download or open the app so you can buy, sell and rent items in your community.

The Obituaries section links to our partner site, theMemories.com. Here you can search for tributes for people you knew, or create a life story for a loved one.
